Budget 2009:
A Resilience Package totaling $20.5 billion was announced in Budget 2009.
General

The Government has introduced a temporary Jobs Credit Scheme where employers would receive a 12% cash grant on the first $2500 of each month's wages for each employee on their CPF payroll. The first Jobs Credit Payment had been made on 31 March 2009.

The Skills Programme for Upgrading and Resilience (SPUR) encourages companies to send their workers to undergo training and upgrade their skills. The Budget has made enhancements to SPUR, egs. Increasing the course fee subsidies for Professionals, Managers, Executives & Technicians (PMET)-level courses from 80% to 90%, Selected tertiary courses at UniSIM and the 3 publicly funded universities would be made available under SPUR.
