In the Ministry of Trade and Industry's Economic Survey of Singapore for 2008, the Singapore economy contracted by 4.2% in the 4th quarter, after posting flat growth in the 3rd quarter. For the whole of 2008, the economy expanded by 1.1%, down from 7.8% in 2007.
